Leon Perel, a native of Belgium is the proprietor of Forum Galleries Antiques in Niagara-on-the-Lake. After obtaining an MA Degree in Sociology and Arts from the Free University of Brussels, Leon went on graduate with an MBA from Germany. Leon is well read and enjoys traveling where is ability to fluently converse in six languages is very handy.
Leon diverse experience lends itself well to the antiques business. He has trained as a restorer of antique furniture and has been a partner in a large scale European antiques whole selling business since 1967. Leon maintains an active role in the community and is a member of several business and cultural organizations. He also maintains a relationship with the Belgium Association of Small and Medium Sized Businesses. He is also a qualified and experienced appraiser
Fulfilling a dream, Leon immigrated to Canada in 2000. His love of history drew Leon to Niagara-on-the-Lake and in January 2001 he purchased an existing antiques business. The "Red Barn" had been a fixture in the community for 30 years and was renamed Forum Galleries and Antiques to reflect Leon's vision of the business.
Since its creation, Forum Galleries Antiques has solidly built is product selection, customer service and trust. Forum Galleries Antiques prides itself in it's loyal customer base and its ability to serve the needs of its many collectors and wholesale dealers.
Leon believed that maturity is defined as, "that stage in life when friends, frequently expressed with conditional words such as one day...later on...and...perhaps...actually become reality.
